YESSSSS, Kale chips! This has been a household favorite for YEARS! We love to make guilt free snacks to keep around the house (even though it doesn’t last long). We have found that if you have healthy options in the house then making smart and mindful decisions about what to eat are EASY!
*I have two different instructions for this because these chips
can be made in a dehydrator OR in the oven.
INGREDIENTS:
1 Bunch Kale
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp melted coconut oil (or avocado oil)
1/2 tsp sea salt
*add in any other seasonings that you want to try (paprika, black pepper, cayenne, etc). If you want to add nutritional yeast to your oven baked chips then add that to the chips AFTER they are cooked. If you are making them in the dehydrator then it can be added before you stick them in.
INSTRUCTIONS for OVEN BAKED:
- Preheat oven to 350˚.
- Rip or chop kale into chip size pieces (they will shrink).
- Put all ingredients into a large bowl and massage the oil mixture into the kale.
- Place on parchment-lined baking sheets and bake for 12 minutes.
INSTRUCTIONS for DEHYDRATED KALE:
- Set dehydrator to 115˚.
- Rip or chop kale into chip size pieces (they will shrink).
- Put all ingredients into a large bowl and massage the oil mixture into the kale. You can add nutritional yeast to the chips beforehand to give it that cheesy flavor.
- Place onto the trays.
- Cook for 3-5 hours (check after 3 hours and see the progress).
